My Publix Trip - Spent $2.48, Saved 91%

After the great deals at the pre - Thanksgiving sales, this weeks sale doesn't seem that great. I still have dozens of gas cards from the previous sale, but if you can manage to find $50 worth of product, the $10 off $50 gas card deal is always worth getting. If you get Shell gas cards  you can combine it with the Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) program they offer.

Anyway, we just needed some salad stuff even though we finally have some of our own produce in the garden - tomatoes, green onions, cucumbers and green peppers! It was a short growing season this fall for some reason and our plants are starting to shrivel up already. But for a while we'll have our our salad toppings. The best deal I see this week is the International Delight creamer but you'll probably be limited in quantity since its a Target coupon.

Don't forget to print your $5 off $25 Save A Lot coupon from facebook to use at Publix too.

I spent $2.48 and got $28 worth of groceries, saving 91%.

Spent $3.96 on My Publix Trip

Another spendy week is in my future and I'm burning through my gift cards this month, having spent $79 already in November and its only halfway through the month. Usually my shops are less than a dollar, but I've had to change my attitude and be okay with spending less than five dollars per shop. For the last several years I've had essentially free groceries due to couponing but I see the tide turning and expect to have to actually pay next year. I just shake my head when I'm at the store when I see what others without coupons spend on their groceries, it is so outrageous.

Anyway, I managed to get that good Lindsay Olive coupon from facebook so I could stock up on them since they are free with the coupon and the bogo sale. Of course all the vitamins are gone since the end of the green flyer deals are today, and it looks like the only vitamin on sale that might be a deal next green flyer is Vitamin D at 33% off. The Save A Lot facebook coupon is the savior this month,

This weekend in your Sunday Tampa paper keep an eye out for a single page Sweetbay flyer as it may have the $5 off $35 coupon like we saw earlier this week.

So for my shop we don't need salad stuff since we're taking the week off work. I spent $3.96 and saved 90%.

My Publix Trip $14, Saving 82%

This week the ad for Publix is freaking me out. I have so many scenarios and can only get a few things I need in each trip because there is just not enough overage or moneymakers to afford me all I want. In the last week I've had to split orders and do multiple transactions just to use the $5 off $25 SAL or WD coupon to get any overage. Also the prices in my stores are much higher than the ad match ups I've calculated on. This week the Halls cough drops are $1.57 rather than the $1.23 everyone is using in matchups. Also the Suave Lotion is 3.29 rather than 2.45 in the match ups. But it didn't matter because the shelf at my store was empty. That's because the coupon doesn't beep if you use more than 2 in your order. So the wording "limit 2 per" is worthless and people will still clear the shelves. Anyway, a rain check is a good consolation since it will extend the life of the coupon which expires this weekend. I also need to get dog food that is kind of expensive, the Purina One big bag. But the stupid bag is not as big as it used to be, only 16.4 lbs now so that means it doesn't even last a month for a big dog. It's hard to cover fifteen dollars in overage these days in one order. I'm hoping for a good PQ in the Sunday paper - maybe a $5 off $50 if we're lucky.

So this shop I spent over $14, the most I have spent on any shopping trip all year (except for gas card shops). I saved $78.54 for a savings rate of 82%. I made a last minute decision to split the order so I could throw in another $5 off $25 and I didn't do the split very well. I was stressed out how much it was going to cost. One order ended up being negative and the other ended up over fourteen dollars. I really need to chill out and accept that they have moved my cheese. I hate that vendors are making smaller packages and raising prices and lowering coupon values. I understand the coupon usage restrictions, that doesn't bother me because if they didn't have them I would never be able to find the products I seek. So, I have several more shops to plan and do this weekend so I can get some Suave, Purina One and of course I'd like to get more of that Kraft Cheese.

I hope you have good luck with your shops and find all you need. Have a nice holiday weekend.

My Publix Trip -0.78, saved $52

I was so excited to find out that Save A Lot is offering the $5 off $25 coupon on facebook again, I could hardly wait to plan my shops. I was starting to do bigger shops of $50 to use the $5 off $50 GFS store coupon but it's really hard with not many great deals these days.  I'm going to make a couple more trips this weekend to use more SAL coupons and with each trip get a few more salad items. We have wonderful huge cucumbers in our garden and tomatoes are around the corner so I don't need to get those. So, this time I actually got paid a little bit because some how in my Grocery Tracker app I entered a wrong number somewhere, I thought I would be paying a little over a dollar. Anyway, I saved $51.93 this trip.
